Experience the thrill of Fall Core with Davis Community Soccer!
Our Fall season is the heart of DCS, welcoming boys and girls ages 4–18 from across our city. With more than 100 teams, the program brings together players, families, coaches, and volunteers in one of the largest and most connected recreational soccer communities in the region.
For many families, soccer is about far more than the game itself. It is a chance to build friendships, stay active, strengthen connections to the Davis community, and be part of a positive, family-centered environment. Whether a player is stepping onto the field for the very first time or continuing a long soccer journey, every child has a place to learn, grow, and belong.
As a community-based, volunteer-led program, DCS depends on the involvement of parent volunteers to support teams and players. We provide free nationally accredited training for coaches and referees, along with ongoing seasonal support. Volunteers also receive added benefits such as Sacramento Republic FC ticket opportunities, access to coaching resources, and invitations to volunteer appreciation events with their families.

Schoolyard (U5) is $150, U6–U12 is $250, and U14–U19 is $275.
How is my player placed on a team?
Players are grouped by grade year and gender with teams balanced by skill level. When possible, teams are formed based on geographic area so you're more likely to play with classmates at a local park near you. Friend or coach requests are not accepted. Teams are only formed if enough volunteers (coaches/referees) are available.
What do practice schedules look like?
Practices are 1–2 times per week for about an hour, typically between 4–7pm. You cannot request specific days, times, or locations. Your coach sets the schedule and will contact you in late August. If you want schedule flexibility, we encourage you to volunteer as a coach—we'll provide training and support.
What do game schedules look like?
Games are held on Saturdays (9am–4pm) during the fall season, starting after Labor Day. Exact schedules are released in early September. Each season is 8 games (one per Saturday) for U8 and below and 10-12 games for U10 and above.
How are games run?
Teams play in age-typical formats (e.g., U8 plays 4v4, U14 plays 11v11) designed to maximize player involvement, skill development, and fun.
Do I have to travel?
Most games are local in Davis parks. Older divisions (U14 and above) may have some travel in the greater Sacramento area.
What is included with registration?
Our Fall season package includes a team picture day, team equipment, field rentals, and a complete uniform kit.
What if I am on the waitlist?
Late registration is not guaranteed; placement depends on space and volunteer availability. Early registrants are more likely to be placed on a team. Waitlisted players will be notified if a spot opens (with 48 hours to accept).
When will I hear from my coach?
Coaches typically reach out in the last week of August, so there may be a waiting period after registration.
What are the equipment requirements?
Families must provide cleats (or closed-toed shoes) and shin guards. Jewelry is not allowed during play. Coaches will provide team equipment (including uniform and soccer ball) for players.
Can I make scheduling requests?
The program cannot accommodate requests for practice or game times, locations, or team placement for convenience (including carpooling). We're always impressed by how new team members work together to make soccer happen for everyone on the team when asks are made. Volunteer coaches do choose their practice day/time/location so if a specific schedule is needed, sign up to volunteer!
Is there finanical aid available?
No player is turned away because of finanical needs.
